The massive package collects all right Miles Davis box sets released between 1996 and 2007 inside an individually-numbered, full-size trumpet case (21½” x 11” x 8”), with extras that include a replica of Davis’ custom-made ‘Gustat’ Heim model 2 trumpet mouthpiece, one os his previously unseen lithograph and an exclusive t-shirt that says, “I can’t play like anyone else, I can’t fight like anyone else, I can’t do ANYTHING like anyone else. Miles collectors should note that the hefty set does not include the various Columbia/Legacy live performance multi-CD box sets, such as The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel 1965, released in 1995; or The Cellar Door Sessions 1970, released in 2005.
Miles Davis signed with Columbia Records in 1955. His albums were gathered together for the first time last year as The Complete Miles Davis Columbia Album Collection. A functional chest with removable lid contained 52 single and double album titles (70 CDs of music in total), each packaged in a mini-LP CD cardboard replica of the original jacket, with original artwork and spine.
