Three-time Grammy Award-winner
Lucinda Williams
will release a new album,
Blessed, March 1, 2011 on Lost Highway.
The new studio set from the acclaimed singer-songwriter features 12 tracks, which include the opening "Buttercup" followed by the bluesy“Born To Be Loved”. On "Seeing Black,"
Elvis Costello
provides some guitar and among the other numbers are the title track and "Soldier’s Song." The song "Kiss Like Your Kiss." first appeared in a version on the album
True Blood: Music From The HBO Original Series - Volume 2
and was just nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Media.
Blessed was produced by
Don Was and co-produced by Eric Liljestrand and Tom Overby, who co-produced Williams 2008 release,
Little Honey
. The new album features special guests Rami Jaffe on keyboards,
Matthew Sweet
on vocals, and Greg Leisz and Costello on guitar.
A Deluxe Edition of
Blessed will include bonus material titled "The Kitchen Tapes." The tracks are the demos Williams recorded of the songs that became the album, actually worked on at the kitchen table in her home, where she does much of her writing.
