Blues-rock singer-guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd
will release a concert set, Live in Chicago, September 28 on Roadrunner/Loud&Proud Records.
Recorded in Chicago’s House of Blues during his 10 Days Out: Blues From The Backroads
tour, Live in Chicago finds Shepherd and his band - Noah Hunt, Chris Layton, Scott Nelson and Riley Osbourn - playing with special guests, Hubert Sumlin
, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith
, Buddy Flett
, Bryan Lee
and Tommy Shannon (of Double Trouble
). Shepherd was nearly to sick to go on the night of the concert, but took a "show must go on" attitude and plowed through for a fiery performance.
Shepherd emerged in the '90s as a teen guitar hero, playing blues-rock for the post-grunge generation. At 16, he was signed with Giant Records and recorded his first album while still in high school. He's racked up two platinum and one gold albums, six Top 10 singles, and his album Trouble Is
still holds the honor of the longest running album on the Billboard Blues Charts,.
